Sanchez, LUST for 30-city US tour
Acclaimed reggae vocalist, Kevin Jackson, more popularly known as Sanchez, is preparing to start a hectic 30-city US tour, which will take him along the country’s eastern seaboard, and into cities he has never played before.
Sanchez will be joined by popular singing group, LUST, which comprises Lukie D, Trilla U, Singing Melody and Tony Curtis. The tour is scheduled to kick off on May 11 and will take the artistes to cities such as Indianapolis, Chicago, Detroit, Bronx, Brooklyn, Rhode Island, Cape Cod, .Hartford, North Carolina, Norfolk and Maryland,
The tour, which will last for six weeks, is called the ‘Singers In Action Tour 2007’ and is scheduled to end on Father’s Day, June 17 in Miramar, Fl. All artistes will be accompanied by the very experienced Chronic band.
Organized by Sanmonick Promotions, this five-week tour is the second for Sanchez for 2007, as earlier this year he went to England for a series of shows. According to the promoters, bookings have been going quite well and the artistes are looking forward to conquering new territory, re-visiting their favourite cities and overall, just giving fans the best they have to offer.
To date, Sanchez has released 28 albums and over 70 singles and has toured extensively throughout Europe, the USA, the Caribbean and Japan. He is planning on going to Australia and Africa and is poised for great things there, particularly in Zambia.
Among his latest releases are the lovers rock album 'No More Heartache' featuring tracks such as, 'This Heart', 'You make my Day' and a cover of 'He Aint Heavy', plus reality songs like 'Gun Town' and 'Love And Unity'; following on the heels of his second gospel album called ‘He’s Got The Power,’ which was preceded by the secular album "Stays On My Mind”.
Sanchez’ career is one that has hit many highs and he has enjoyed numerous chart topping singles, has been awarded several ‘Singer of the Year’ and ‘Song of the Year’ titles and has worked with many of the top local and international producers in the music business.
His rendition of the Jamaica’s National Anthem is legendary and his recent sterling performance of the anthem at the Opening Ceremony of the ICC Cricket World Cup in Trelawny, was absolutely magnificent. This was broadcast live to over one billion viewers around the world.
